With Australian brick and mortar retailers under pressure already from the increasing prevalence of online shopping and the use of discount coupons by Australian consumers, Morgan Stanley, an American investment bank reckons that online retail giant Amazon, may well begin to make the land down under a key focus of its expansion plans.

According to a new report from online search giant Google, Australian retailers are missing out on sales this holiday shopping season because they have failed to develop mobile friendly versions of their online stores. According to Google, nearly 25 per cent of retail enquiries in Australia now come from mobile devices, with the problem primarily lying with Australian businesses and their response, which Google estimates at being 80 per cent failing to have adapted their internet platforms for M-Commerce.
